DS GamesDS games are game titles intended for the Nintendo DS, which is a handheld video game console developed and manufactured by video game company Nintendo. DS stands for either Dual screen or Developers System. Released in 2004, it features a clamshell design, with two LCD screens inside, of which one is a touch-sensitive screen. The touch-sensitive screen provides feedback with the help of either the included stylus or a curved plastic thumb tab attached to the optional wrist strap. The touch-sensitive screen allows players to interact with in-game elements more directly than by pressing buttons. Some DS games make use of the touch screen functionality while some do not. The Nintendo DS is region free and as such will run a Nintendo DS game purchased anywhere in the world. The built-in Wi-Fi functionality helps one to access the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, where one can compete with other users playing the same Wi-Fi compatible game. The Nintendo DS game library features several fourth-generation Pokemon game titles like Pokemon Pearl, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Ranger. The DS game library also features popular games from popular franchises like Tony Hawk, Sims, Star Wars, Spider-Man, Mario, Zelda, Resident Evil and Tom Clancy, among others. Games which support the Rumble Pak device and provides haptic feedback while playing video games include Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and Star Trek: Tactical Assault amongst others. Several Nintendo DS games can be downloaded from the internet. In 2006, Nintendo launched the Nintendo DS Lite, which is a slimmer, lighter and more aesthetically pleasing redesigned DS. |
