Forge WorldForge World is a UK based manufacturer of resin action toys and figures, which is run by Tony Cottrell. Forge World being a subsidiary of Games Workshop makes toys related to various Games Workshop games like Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Epic, Battlefleet Gothic, Warmaster, The Lord of the Rings, etc. Forge World also produces model vehicles, terrain pieces, show pieces, stickers, etc. Off late the company has sought to expand its product range and in 2007 released its own game system, Aeronautica Imperialis, which is an aircraft combat tabletop miniature wargame that makes use of 6mm or 1:285 scale models, which are also used in Epic 40,000.
Forge World is particularly known for its models of rare or variant vehicles, which comprises Super-Heavy Tanks, Titans, Fightercraft, Dragons, and Daemons among others. Off late the company has also sought to expand its infantry-sized miniature range by launching new soldiers for Elysian Drop Troopers, Death Korps of Krieg and Tallarn Desert Raiders. Forge World also manufactures and sells individual model parts and transfers which can then be used to modify their official Games Workshop miniatures. Forge World also publishes the Imperial Armour series of books, which contain the special rules that are required for most of the company’s models. |
