Hornby Electric Trains
Hornby is well-known as the U.K.’s leading brand in the toy railway hobby. Founded by Frank Hornby, the company was initially known as Meccano. In 1920, the company introduced toy trains that met with instant success. These Hornby Trains utilised a clockwork motor made of metal pressings held together by Meccano nuts and bolts. In 1925, the company came up with an electric train that was operated from a mains supply of 100-250 volts.
The present range of Hornby products includes sets and train packs, locomotives, rolling stocks, tracks, layout buildings, power and accessories. One can start their Hornby collection by choosing from the wide range of sets and train packs that include Smokey Joe Set 2003, Eurostar Train Set 98, The Rover Set, Percy Circus Set 2005, Mixed Goods Dcc Set, etc. The locomotive range includes steam, diesel and electric locomotives. One can choose from a variety of diesel and electric locomotives that includes products like Serco Railtest Pack, a licensed Train Operator that enables it to run test trains; Arc Class 59 59102, a shunter built by the British railways that features Sprung buffers and cab interior; and Arc Class 59 59102, a model from the late 1990s that features a pristine finish. Additionally, one can also find products like Freightliner Class 08 530, Railfreight Cl56 No 56088, Br Class 31 Fragonset, among others.
