Transformers G1’Transformers’ is a range of toy robots manufactured by Takara in Japan and distributed worldwide by Hasbro since 1984. A transformer could transform into any form it has been assigned. For instance, it could change to a car, an aircraft or an animal. These robots were divided into two groups Autobots and Decepticons, who battled against each other to take full charge of Cybertron, their homeland. The Autobots were led by Optimus Prime and their opponents and the Decepticons were led by Megatron, who was later replaced by Galvatron. The Autobots were designed as mainly cars in warm colours, while the Decepticons were created as planes in cool colours with a few exceptions. Some of the robots featured under the Transformers G1 toyline are Breakdown, Galvatron, Hot Rod, Hubcap, Eject, Drag Strip, Cyclonus Octane, Quintessons, Razorclaw, Broadside, Dead End, Kup, Menasor, Motormaster, Outback, Pipes, Ramhorn, Rodimus Prime, Scourge, Rewind, Sky Lynx, Springer, Steeljaw, Sharkticons, Swerve and Tailgate. The Transformer G1 toys eventually led to subsequent comic books and cartoons, by the Marvel Comics writers Jim Shooter and Dennis O'Neil. "Transformers: The Movie" is set to release soon this year. "Transformers: The Game" is set to be out soon on PlayStation 3, XBOX 360, PSP, Wii and Playstation 2. |
