Commodore 64Commodore 64 is an innovative personal computer that has been used as a gaming console for a variety of video and computer games. Launched in 1982 by a US-based electronics major, Commodore International, the Commodore 64, also called the C64, was an instant hit. This system offered multimedia capabilities that were reputed to be better than the prevalent IBM-compatible computers. After the hardware sales increased, a number of software applications were released for the Commodore 64, ranging from office-related products to games. The performance of the computer was enhanced with the incorporation of an 8-bit MOS Technology 6510 microprocessor with 64 KB RAM. In the year of the Commodore’s launch, the company released the Commodore Max Machine in Japan, which was to be exclusively a gaming console.
