Gears Of War

Gears of War is a tactical third-person "over-the-shoulder" shooter video game released for the Xbox 360 on 17th November 2006. It was developed by Epic Games, creators of the Unreal Tournament series, and was published by Microsoft Game Studios. A limited edition special pack was also launched which included a disc of bonus content and an art book titled "Destroyed Beauty" that detailed much of the game's back-story.

The game takes place on the fictional planet, Sera, and centres on the soldiers of the Delta Squad, who fight to save the human habitants from a relentless subterranean enemy known as The Locust Horde. Sera’s human inhabitants are descendants of a once-glorious civilisation that have been at war among themselves for over a century. After the war, a sort of pseudo peace covered Sera, which was shattered by the discovery of Imulsion, a phosphorescing, low-viscosity fluid, and the Lightmass Process, which enabled production of cheap energy from Imulsion. This led to a global economic collapse, triggered by the abundance of cheap energy that destroyed Sera’s hydrocarbon and nuclear energy enterprises, which led to the Pendulam Wars. The Pendulam Wars ceased on the Emergence Day, when a ravenous species known as the Locust attacked human urban settlements across the globe.

The central playable character in the Gears of War game is Marcus Fenix, who is a former prisoner and war-hardened soldier. In co-operative play, Fenixis joined by his friend and fellow soldier, Dominic Santiago, or "Dom", as the other playable character.

Gears of War cheats and walkthroughs can be found across the internet. Two patches have been launched, which have fixed several glitches and bugs present in the Gears of War game.
