Just CauseJust Cause is a single player game available for playing on Microsoft Windows, XBox 360 and PS2 platforms. A publishing of Eidos Interactive, it was developed by Avalanche Studios. It is set on a fictional island, called "San Esperito", in the South American tropics. Here the player works as a CIA black ops agent, Rico Rodriguez, with a motive of overthrowing San Esperito’s dictator, who is doubted for possessing weapons of mass destruction. It is believed that the game is based on the real-life U.S. invasion of Panama in order to topple military leader Manuel Noriega. It was code-named "Operation Just Cause". The game has an open, non-linear environment that gives players the freedom to explore and make choices on how they wish to play the game. At its core are elements of a third-person shooter and a driving game. Players have at their disposal an array of vehicles like motorcycles, cars, helicopters, boats and aeroplanes. A notable feature of the game-play is an instant parachute that may be released when falling from a certain height. Stunts such as standing on the roof of a moving car and jumping to another, opening of parachute while in motion over the roofs, parasailing, and skydiving are other interesting features in the Just Cause video game. A free demo Just Cause download is available on many internet sites. The game has received a rating of 8.8 from IGN UK and 9 from the Xbox Magazine UK. Just Cause 2 is reported to be in the making. |
