Wii PlayCounterpart to Wii Sports and Wii Music is the Wii play, a video game for the Wii. Wii is the seventh-generation video game console made by Nintendo. The game comes with a Wii Remote (without the nunchuk attachment) in Europe, Japan, Australia and other North America. A beta version of the game was initially playable along with Wii Sports at E3 2006. The Wii play, like the Wii sports uses the Wii’s Mii channel which lets the user create custom avatars that are imported in the games supporting the feature. Once these Miis are created, they can be transferred to the internal memory of a Wii Remote to use on another Wii game. Wii play features 9 mini games designed for two players. However, a single player could also play the game with a computer controlled second player wherever essential. When first played, only one game is available in the Wii play. After each game, the next game is unlocked for playing. This way, all nine games are made available. In single player games, high scores reward the player bronze, silver, gold or platinum medals with a message on the Wii Message Board stating which game and medal were unlocked. The nine games include Table Tennis, Laser Hockey, Fishing, Find Mii, Pose Mii, Shooting Range, Billiards, Charge! and Tanks. The ’Official Nintendo Magazine’ has praised the game, giving it 91/100 and describing it as "surprisingly addictive". |
