RizlaRizla, the popular name for Rizla+ (often pronounced as Rizla La Croix), is a leading brand of rolling papers for cigarettes. The rich tradition of this brand started when Pierre de Lacroix, a French entrepreneur, made paper in 1532. The Lacroix family formally began to manufacture rolling papers for commercial purposes. Francois Lacroix bought over a paper mill and set up the Lacroix Rolling paper company. In 1796, Napoleon himself gave this company license to make rolling paper for his soldiers. In 1865 this company started using rice to make the paper and they finally changed the brand name to Riz La+. In 1906, Riz La manufactured the earliest flavoured papers with the introduction of the strawberry and menthol flavour. A few years later the company launched thin, lighter rolling papers with a strong tobacco-influenced flavour. Shortly afterwards Riz La developed an elegant rolling machine design that is still in use. During World War II, this company started using gum on the edges of their rolling papers before modifying the brand name to the present Rizla+. In 1977, Rizla started making king-sized rolling papers that were often used with cannabis. Today Rizla rolling papers in different flavours and thicknesses can be purchased online. Rizla papers and the Rizla rolling machines are much sought by cigarette manufacturers in different parts of the world. |
